Jake Burton Carpenter founded Burton Snowboards out of his Vermont barn in 1977 and dedicated his life to snowboarding and the outdoor lifestyle. Burton remains privately held and owned by the Carpenter family and operates around the globe, including its headquarters in Burlington, Vermont.
