Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $122,600.00 - $204,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Position Summary

The Director, Connected Solutions & Telematics is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and growth of Cox Fleet’s telematics and connected vehicle solutions portfolio. This role drives integration of telematics capabilities into Cox Fleet operations, enhances client value through data-driven services, and builds strong partnerships with external telematics providers to scale the business.

This leader plays a critical role in advancing Cox Fleet’s vision of connecting vehicles, services, and data into a unified client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Connected Solutions Strategy & Growth

  • Define and execute the strategy for telematics and connected solutions across Cox Fleet
  • Identify opportunities to expand telematics-enabled services that improve client outcomes, operational efficiency, and revenue growth
  • Partner with senior leadership to align connected solutions with broader marketplace, client delivery, and operational strategies

Telematics Partnerships & Ecosystem Management

  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with telematics providers and technology partners
  • Negotiate and manage partnerships to ensure service quality, innovation, and scalability
  • Evaluate new providers and technologies to expand capabilities and maintain competitive advantage
  • Collaborate with internal marketplace and network teams to ensure seamless provider integration and performance alignment

Operational Integration & Service Delivery

  • Integrate telematics data and solutions into Cox Fleet operational workflows (e.g., dispatch, event management, service delivery)
  • Ensure connected solutions are embedded into client onboarding, service delivery, and performance management models
  • Partner with operations teams to optimize processes using real-time vehicle and service data

Client Value & Experience

  • Develop and deliver client-facing telematics offerings, including reporting, insights, and value-added services
  • Partner with client teams to position connected solutions as a differentiator in the Cox Fleet value proposition
  • Support top-tier client programs and event management with enhanced visibility into vehicle and service performance

Data, Analytics & Insights

  • Leverage telematics and connected data to drive actionable insights for clients and internal teams
  • Partner with data and BI teams to develop reporting, dashboards, and predictive analytics capabilities
  • Use data to improve service provider performance, fleet utilization, and overall operational efficiency

Performance Management

  • Establish KPIs for telematics adoption, partner performance, and connected solution outcomes
  • Monitor and drive improvements in service delivery, uptime, response times, and cost efficiency
  • Ensure alignment between telematics capabilities and service-level expectations

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop a team responsible for connected solutions, telematics integration, and partner management
  • Build capabilities in data-driven operations, vendor management, and emerging technology adoption
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement

Change Management & Transformation

  • Lead the adoption of telematics solutions across Cox Fleet as part of broader organizational integration efforts
  • Drive change management initiatives to embed connected solutions into day-to-day operations
  • Act as a key leader in scaling Cox Fleet’s digital and connected ecosystem

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Operations or related field and 10 years’ experience in operations, telematics, fleet management, or connected vehicle solutions. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 8 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years’ experience; or 14 years’ experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years experience in a leadership role
  • Proven experience managing external technology/vendor partnerships
  • Strong understanding of telematics data, connected vehicle ecosystems, and fleet operations
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving technology, operations, and client delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to scale emerging business lines or products
