Role Overview: GPMS International, Inc. is seeking a mid-level electrical engineer. This ideal candidate for this role has experience in developing their own electrical designs, troubleshooting electrical hardware, and supporting engineering review processes.In this role, you'll work closely with our lead engineers, collaborating on design, debug, and validation of microcontroller-based electronics for aircraft applications, for both new and legacy product support. We want to hire someone who is motivated and confident in their ability to be successful in this role.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:- Education – BS in Electrical Engineering or related field and/or experience.- Experience – 3-5+ years of experience, ideally in aviation or manufacturing- Proficient in electronics development methodologies. Ability to perform in all phases of the electrical development life cycle including requirements, design, layout, code-integration and test, and documentation- Experience designing complex electrical systems- Proficiency in schematic capture and layout tools- Experience with Microsoft tools such as Teams and ExcelGPMS International Inc. 93 Pilgrim Park Rd, Waterbury, VT 05676 www.gpms-vt.comPREFERRED SKILLS:- Experience with DO-160G /developing hardware in a regulated industry- Developing design and layout solutions for various digital interfaces used to communicate in embedded systems including, RS-232/422/485, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, etc.- Exposure to embedded systems and microcontroller firmware development. Experience with embedded microcontrollers, such as the Renesas™ RX family.- Experience supporting mechanical and package integration- Familiarity with serial communication protocols and debugging tools- Experience developing PC-based tools to test, validate and interact with embedded systems.- Experience with software/hardware integration and the lab equipment used including oscilloscopes, signal generators, In-circuit emulators, etc.- Experience in aviation, knowledge of helicopters and their systemsPOSITION RESPONSIBILITES:- Develop complex electrical designs for new products- Process and support updates/improvements to legacy designs- Thoroughly review engineering change orders- Manage, organize, and maintain Approved Part Log- Evaluate alternate part/components due to sourcing constraints/obsolescence- Support design and development reviews- Be capable of reviewing wiring diagrams for electrical system troubleshooting- Process hardware debug/troubleshooting of field returns- Ability to work with internal and external contacts on individual and team basis- Ability to be both an independent and collaborative problem solver- Maintain excellent organizational and analytical skills- Work proactively with minimal supervision- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.- Manage time appropriately to complete tasks in a fast-paced environmentGPMS is an equal opportunity employer.
