Senior Account Managers take true ownership of the client relationship and strategy, serving as key drivers of account growth, brand success, and long-term partnership. With strong autonomy, they provide high-level guidance to clients at the manager and director level and mentor internal teams to deliver work that is insight-driven, on-brand, and strategically aligned.
They are responsible for managing, building, and maintaining mutually beneficial, high-value relationships with clients, with a consistent focus on supporting and executing KSV’s belief that every project, no matter how tactical, is a strategic opportunity. Senior Account Managers are expected to think beyond the immediate ask, uncovering underlying client needs and positioning the agency’s work as a lever for transformation and progress.
As the lead day-to-day agency representative, the Senior Account Manager oversees client needs through direct contact, proactive counsel, and seamless coordination of agency resources. They are deeply knowledgeable about both the client’s business and the agency’s capabilities, ensuring all work is strategically sound and aligned with client goals. They review and guide strategic, creative, and media decisions prior to client delivery and act as a key voice in client presentations and communications.
This role requires an individual who is highly strategic, action-oriented, and collaborative, someone who can see the big picture while driving results at the project level. Senior Account Managers must be equally skilled at leading internal teams and navigating client complexity, all while managing multiple projects with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management
- Leads and nurtures high-value client relationships, serving as a trusted strategic advisor to director-level stakeholders.
- Independently provides proactive counsel that connects client business goals with agency recommendations.
- Anticipates and addresses complex client challenges, guiding resolution in collaboration with internal leads when needed.
- Oversees and mentors internal teams to ensure delivery aligns with client expectations and strategic intent.
- Drives clarity and confidence in all communications, ensuring alignment across client and agency stakeholders.
Fiscal Oversight
- Leads identification and pursuit of organic growth opportunities within accounts, owning the development and presentation of proposals.
- Develops, scopes, and secures internal alignment on budgets and estimates, ensuring clarity before client presentation.
- Independently manages client budgets, proactively flagging risks and optimizing resources to ensure profitability.
- Partners with leadership to ensure account-level revenue and margin goals are met, contributing to overall agency financial health.
Project Leadership & Management
- Leads the development of communications strategies, leveraging client insights, industry trends, and data.
- Receives client briefings and translates strategic direction into actionable plans, briefs, and assignments for creative, media, and cross-functional teams.
- Provides creative, production, media, public relations and interactive department personnel with well-documented input, support data and production materials as required; ensures that advertising strategies are clearly defined, approved by clients, and understood by the creative and media groups.
- Reviews and refines creative and media deliverables to ensure alignment with client strategy and goals prior to presentation.
- Owns client presentations and communication touchpoints, confidently selling in ideas, work, and recommendations with or without support from department leads.
- Ensures excellence in execution by managing project timelines, scopes, and deliverables across internal teams.
- Mentors Account Managers and Coordinators, offering day-to-day guidance that strengthens their client service and project leadership skills.
Personal Development
- Maintains expert knowledge of client industries and competitive landscapes to provide proactive strategic guidance.
- Actively seeks opportunities to elevate skills in strategic planning, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Serves as a visible ambassador of the agency at client meetings and industry events; promotes KSV’s mission, values, and capabilities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience working in an agency or consultancy setting a must
- Experience working in the energy industry is ideal but not required
- Effective time-management and prioritization skills, impeccable organization, and the flexibility to adapt quickly to changes
- Demonstrated analytical thinker
