The Identity and Access Management Intern role provides hands-on experience where you will assist in designing, implementing and supporting enterprise-level IT Security systems to protect National Life Group’s network and data from cyber-attacks. You will gain exposure to industry-leading identity management tools, involvement in Privileged Access Management protocols, and developing Least Privileged security models while working alongside experienced analysts who are dedicated to protecting critical systems and data. This internship offers the opportunity to develop practical skills, contribute to active operations, and build a foundation for a future career in cybersecurity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role, you will collaborate with seasoned professionals in Identity Access Management, security monitoring, engineering and architecture. You will help us oversee our enterprise-level Identity Management environment, complete daily analysis tasks and participate in efforts to mature our Identity solutions.
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to identity management alerts and business access issues.
- Assist in identifying root causes and recommending remediation steps for role access issues.
- Participate in identity role analysis and improvements to meet business objectives.
- Contribute to key identity documentation, reporting, and process improvement efforts.
- Participate in planning, executing and managing GRC activities in support of compliance requirements.
- Stay current on emerging threats and cybersecurity trends to help strengthen our NLG defenses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pursuing degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity operations, identity management and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).
- Familiarity with Security and GRC concepts (such as Least-Privileged, Just-in-time, RBAC, Risk Based Permissions) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Sharp analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving team environment.
- Experience working in Information Technology (such as software/hardware support) is a plus.
- Scripting or programming language (e.g. PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
