Role Summary
The Senior Analyst, Data & Analytics is a great opportunity to join a team that is central to National Life’s data transformation. In this role, you will be part of the analytics function that drives best practices, supports scalable analytical solutions, and partners with both business units and data/engineering teams to ensure analytics delivers impactful insights. You’ll operate at the intersection of business, analytics, and technology — helping define standards, build repeatable frameworks, enable self-service analytics, and deliver key insights to strategic stakeholders.
This position currently offers an onsite work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office four days per week during onsite core days. Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional data initiatives to align analytics efforts with strategic business goals.
- Develop and deliver dashboards, reports, and enablement of advanced analytics (in partnership with the AI Center of Excellence) that align with enterprise priorities.
- Maintain awareness of analytics industry trends, emerging methods, and support continuous improvement of analytics capabilities across the organization.
- Assist in documenting and enforcing analytics standards, best practices, and methodologies — e.g., visualization standards, analytics lifecycle, self-service governance.
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in data governance and analytics.
- Monitor analytics performance: track adoption, user-engagement, business impact of analytics deliverables; recommend optimization.
- Partner with IT and business teams to ensure seamless integration of data solutions into production environments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Math, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
- 10+ years of experience with data governance, data management or data analytics
- Strong communication skills, and the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences
- Ability to learn data & technology as it relates to business functions
- Analytical mindset with experience in solving complex problems and deriving effective solutions.
- Ability to independently navigate ambiguity in decision making.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Databricks or other cloud-based data analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift).
- Experience using business intelligence tools like Tableau and Alteryx for data visualization and analysis
- Proficiency in coding languages such as SQL, Python, Pyspark, etc.

Base Pay Range. The base pay range for this position is the range National Life reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors, including: prior experience and job-related knowledge; education, training and certificates; current business needs; and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.
Additional Compensation and Benefits. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in National Life’s discretionary annual incentive programs, subject to the rules governing such programs. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and National Life reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
