Role Summary
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for optimizing delivery across multiple initiatives or programs, ensuring the system of work delivers expected business value. This role enables cross-functional decision-making, manages systemic risks, and improves flow across the organization. The Senior PM operates at a strategic level, aligning execution to enterprise priorities and driving value realization.
This position currently offers an onsite work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office four days per week during onsite core days. Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.
This role requires a minimum of 8 years of Life and Annuity industry experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Initiation & Value Alignment
- Drive alignment of initiatives to strategic objectives and enterprise priorities
- Lead tradeoff decisions to maximize value across competing initiatives
- Ensure initiatives are connected to measurable business outcomes
Adaptive Planning & Flow Management
- Optimize sequencing, capacity, and flow across programs and teams
- Identify and remove systemic bottlenecks and constraints
- Enable coordinated execution across interconnected initiatives
Risk, Uncertainty & Decision Enablement
- Enable cross-functional decision-making across leaders and domains
- Anticipate systemic risks and second-order impacts
- Resolve ambiguity and guide teams through complex trade-offs
Stakeholder Alignment & Influence
- Align senior stakeholders with competing priorities and constraints
- Influence decision-making at leadership level
- Maintain enterprise-level visibility of progress, risks and value
Minimum Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience leading complex programs or multi-team initiative
- Minimum of 8 years of experience within the Life and Annuity industry, with demonstrated understanding of products, operations, and regulatory environment
- Proven ability to deliver strategic initiatives with measurable business outcomes
- Strong experience managing interdependencies across domains and functions
- Advanced capability in decision facilitation, tradeoff analysis and ambiguity resolution
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive enterprise alignment
- Strong financial and operational acumen tied to value realization
- Expertise in multiple delivery methodologies and tools
- Strong executive presence and decision facilitation capability
- PMP or equivalent experience expected; track record of enterprise impact

Base Pay Range. The base pay range for this position is the range National Life reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors, including: prior experience and job-related knowledge; education, training and certificates; current business needs; and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.
Additional Compensation and Benefits. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in National Life’s discretionary annual incentive programs, subject to the rules governing such programs. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and National Life reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
