About us
Vermont Construction Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support our growing residential and commercial construction operations throughout Vermont. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting projects from pre-construction through closeout.
The Project Engineer will assist with project coordination, documentation, scheduling, cost tracking, and communication to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project operations
- Review project plans, specifications, and scopes of work
- Coordinate submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
- Track project schedules, budgets, and material deliveries
- Assist with job setup packets and required paperwork
- Prepare and track purchase orders and work orders
- Participate in job awareness and project kickoff meetings
- Monitor job progress and assist with financial tracking
- Support change order documentation and pricing
- Assist with punch lists and project closeout activities
- Maintain strong communication with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Uphold company standards for quality, safety, and customer service
Experience (Preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination
- Experience with residential or commercial construction projects
