Snow School Director (2025-2026 Season 003029)

Oversee and lead the Snow School's daily operations at the Snowbowl. Responsible for hiring, instructor training, safety programming and guest experience. Direct all aspects of program delivery and instructor curriculum while ensuring a high quality, safe and profitable learning experience for guests.
This is a part-time non benefit temporary position with a hiring range of $28.14 - $35.19 per hour.
Core Responsibilities:
- Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train and motivate instructors. Overseeing their performance and ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
- Program Development: Create and manage Snowbowl programs for all ages and ability levels ensuring they align with the Snowbowl’s purpose. Direct all aspects of program delivery, instructional quality and guest experience.
- Training: Instruct and lead ITC (Instructor Training Course), weekly trainings and facilitate further education in PSIA and Children’s Accreditations.
- Safety: Train staff of accident and lost child protocols in conjunction with Ski Patrol. Enforce Skier Responsibility Codes and ensure compliance with all resort and industry standards in conjunction with Ski Patrol. Ensure all instructors are of able ability to teach appropriate levels.
- Collaboration: Works closely with Product & Guest Experience Manager to manage bookings and instructors. Collaborates with Rental Manager for timing, school groups, etc. to ensure efficiencies and timely lessons. Communicated with Lift Managers/Supervisors for any specific needs. Work in partnership with Ski Patrol Director for any safety concerns and additional safety training.
- Guest Experience: Well versed in customer needs and creating high quality learning environment for guests of all ages.
- Middlebury Students: Oversees and supports Middlebury Student development in JTerm. Assists students at Feb Graduation and in the “Ski Down”. Mentors paid student instructors and empowers them for their success.
- Other: Regularly serves visitors as an instructor and performs other duties as needed.
- High School Diploma
- 3-5 years teaching or coaching with supervisory experience
- Extremely knowledge and capable of teaching beginner-expert lessons in skiing & snowboarding
- Experience in Ski Touring and Telemarking encouraged
- PSIA Certifications & Children’s Specialist certifications encouraged
- Exemplary customer services skills with guests of all ages
- Basic computer skills required
