This is considered a part-time, hourly, position. The starting rate for the position is $16.94 per hour.
- Ranger/Ambassador should be on-time for shift and ready to work 5 minutes prior to shift starting
- When outdoor services is not on duty, check the carts first and see if more need to be brought down to the front of the golf shop
- Always have a Ranger Flag displayed, wear a staff shirt and use your name tag
- On busy days use the white golf carts located in the cart pen
- Always carry extra scorecards, pencils and ball mark repair tools to give to players when needed
- Be the on-course customer service specialist for the facility
- Promote the facility programs, events and image to the customer s of the facility at all times
- Provide welcoming “first contact” with each customer or groups of customers and ensure they have an enjoyable experience
- Check with the golf shop for any unusual or special instructions, such as cart paths only etc.
- Be in possession of the daily tee sheet and monitor for updates throughout the shift
- Make sure all equipment; radio, cart, etc. are working correctly
- Communicate with the golf shop on a regular basis
- Assist customers with any on-course problems – alert appropriate supervisor if necessary
- Move around the course in reverse order, hole 18 back to hole 1
- Enforcing facility rules and regulations
- Fill and keep clean all water stations on the golf course
- Check divot container stations on #5 and #14 and refill empty containers
- Assist in keeping the course and areas around the clubhouse clean, and call attention to golf shop of any maintenance issues needing addressing (including but not limited to ball washers, emptying full trash cans and so on)
- Check the driving range. Pick up baskets and return to the clubhouse. Check for trash. Make sure things on the ranger are organized and neat at all times. Especially around the tee area.
- Keep player’s on the pre-determined pace-of-play schedule and report any problems to the golf shop
- Continually check in with the golf shop personnel (25-30 minutes), even if there is nothing to report, for possible change of duties
- Be prepared for inclement weather, understand bad weather procedures and communicate with golf shop during weather alerts as necessary
- Assist other outside staff as needed
- If things are slow, spend your time fixing ball marks on greens or filling divots on tees and fairways. You should not be playing golf on your shift
- At the end of your shift put the ranger flag away, refuel and wash the cart that you used
- This position may perform additional duties as needed/required
